Annonce de colloque co-organisé par le laboratoire Trajectoires : The formation of archaeological layers in Stone Age Wetland sites : understanding complex site structures - 17-18 octobre 2019, Saint Petersbourg

Behind the formation of water-influenced stratigraphies in prehistoric wetland sites stand complex taphonomic processes. Their interpretation influences the reconstructions of archaeological records. However, archaeological strata are above all valuable archives with a wealth of information about the environment and the character of past settlement structures. We propose the following topics for discussion :
• Particularities of archaeological layers formation of prehistoric wetland sites : correlation of natural and anthropological data.
• The structure of archaeological layers : intra-site spatial analysis and possibilities for historical reconstructions.
• Chronology of archaeological materials and layers.
• Ethnoarchaeological investigations of strata. Models of archaeological strata and reconstruction of settlement structure.
